IACMI and LIFT donate PPE to Detroit clinic

LIFT and IACMI, the two Detroit-based manufacturing innovation institutes, have donated their supplies of personal protective equipment (PPE) to nearby Community Health and Social Services (CHASS) centre to fight against coronavirus.Together, the institutes donated: 300 safety glasses; 300 safety glasses; 1,400 nitrile gloves; and 60 tyvek lab coats.

NCC donates PPE to help protect frontline workers

The National Composites Centre, a UK-based research centre, has donated thousands of pieces of PPE to local hospitals and medical facilities to help them during the coronavirus pandemic. 32,000 gloves, 1,350 coveralls, over 100 pairs of safety glasses, over 60 masks and three powered respirator hoods have been sent to help protect medical staff.

Verus International enters protective gear business

Verus International has taken over a controlling 51 per cent interest in ZC Top Apparel Manufacturing, a Philippines-based maker of reusable N95 fabric masks and biohazard suits. The premium masks produced by ZC Top are N95 compliant and made up of a washable shell and a multi-layer filter than provides protection for three days before replacement.

BASF donates over 100 million protective masks

BASF, a German chemical company, has announced that as part of its “Helping Hands” campaign to fight corona pandemic, BASF is donating 100 million protective masks to the Federal Republic of Germany. BASF is also donating 1 million masks to the State of Rhineland-Palatinate. The first delivery of masks is expected at Frankfurt Airport by next week.
