Exel Composites helping Finland reduce CO2

Exel Composites has supplied fibreglass profiles for 33 electric buses to Chinese bus and coach manufacturer Yutong which in turn has delivered these to Helsinki, Finland. Introduction of the electric buses is part of Finland’s goal to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by five million kilograms a year. Light weight fibreglass increases energy efficiency.

The product has the potential for light weighting in vehicles by almost 50 per cent, with strength matching that of high strength alloy steel at the weight of aluminium. Mondi develops CAC line to create more sustainable wipes

Mondi has developed a new Carded Airlaid Carded (CAC) line to create a more sustainable three-layer nonwoven for wipes, which can be used for personal hygiene and cleaning purposes. The new line will use 100 per cent cellulose content, including viscose and pulp from certified sources, resulting in a nonwoven material that is fully biodegradable.
