Purdue team’s tech allows wearers turn on electronics

Scientists at the Purdue University have developed a new technology for fabrics which allows wearers to control electronic devices such as turning on lights and music through clothing. The technology also protects wearers from rain, stains, and bacteria. The technology is being patented and the team is looking for partners to test and commercialise it.

Shalag to acquire nonwovens manufacturer Texsus

Israel-based Shalag Industries Ltd, a world leader in carded thermobonded and air through bonded (ATB) nonwoven technologies, has signed an agreement to acquire 100 per cent of the shares of Texsus Spa, a leading manufacturer of ATB and laminated products located in Pistoia, Italy. The acquisition is likely to be completed in next few weeks.
